About

Experience. Community. Promotion.

Introduction

We are NPs and PAs working in the University’s medical centers in Pittsburgh and its community entities, who have organized in a self-governed, democratic group to address our APP issues. Our bylaws and dues are set by the APPs still working on the floor. Due money and our donations are designated for legal representation of our objectives and issue focus. Our agenda is to catch up APP wages to national standards (adjusted only for cost of living), to protect benefits, advance continued medical education, and ensure work conditions that promote the best care that we were trained to provide.

Our current focus

  • Advocate for training, supervision, and transparency in new assignments and cross-coverage

  • Optimize career ladder accessibility and practicality

  • Improve transparency, reduce liability, and addend wage details into contracts

  • Promote quality work conditions to avoid APP burn out

  • Defend maternity/paternity leave, PTO, and holiday pay

  • Enhance CME time and funding

  • Broaden the diversity of specialized educational options

  • Ensure employment and teaching opportunities outside of the primary employer

  • Bolster APP representation and communication in administration

  • Confront transparency issues in policy and procedures
